Cristiano Ronaldo Picks Saudi Arabia as His Home

Cristiano Ronaldo confirms he plans to live in Saudi Arabia forever, calling it a land of peace. The football star explains why he turned down the Club World Cup and renewed with Al Nassr until 2027.
Cristiano Ronaldo has shared heartfelt sentiments about his life in Saudi Arabia, saying he and his family have found true happiness and peace in the kingdom. The football star, who joined Al Nassr in late 2022, revealed in a video on the club’s YouTube channel, “The people treat us in an incredibly warm way. That’s why we want to live here and build our lives here.”
The 40-year-old legend confirmed that he has no plans to leave, calling Saudi Arabia a place of “peace and safety.” Backed by his family’s full support, Ronaldo expressed how deeply they have connected with the culture and lifestyle in the region.
Recently, the Portuguese forward renewed his contract with Al Nassr until 2027. Since his arrival, Cristiano Ronaldo has netted 99 goals in all competitions. Although he celebrated a King Salman Club Cup win, his eyes remain firmly on a larger goal lifting a major domestic or continental trophy with the club.
“I still believe in that goal,” he said. “That’s why I renewed for two more years. I believe I will be a champion in Saudi Arabia.”
Why Ronaldo Skipped the FIFA Club World Cup
While many expected to see the football star compete in the FIFA Club World Cup held in the United States, Ronaldo turned down offers to participate. His reason? He wanted to rest and properly prepare for what he sees as a very demanding season ahead.
“It wasn’t a logical decision to take,” Ronaldo explained. “I felt it was more important to rest and get ready for a long season that will end with the World Cup. I want to be at my best, not only for Al Nassr but also for the Portuguese national team.”
Earlier this month, the legendary forward played a crucial role in helping Portugal win the UEFA Nations League, scoring in the final against Spain. Portugal eventually took home the title after a dramatic penalty shootout.
High Hopes for Saudi Football and the Future
Cristiano Ronaldo also praised the Saudi Pro League, boldly calling it “one of the top five leagues in the world.” With Saudi Arabia preparing to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup, he added, “It will be the most beautiful in history.” He further promised that next season will be “the best in Al Nassr’s history.”
When asked what he’d say to those who are unfamiliar with the country, the football star smiled and replied, “We don’t need to prove anything to anyone. I’m here on the Red Sea because I love it. My family and I feel at peace here. I’m not just talking about tourist destinations like Riyadh, Jeddah, and others; I love the culture. I’d just say, Come and see it for yourself.”
Football star CR7 powerful words show just how deeply he has embraced his life in Saudi Arabia, not just as a player, but as someone who sees the kingdom as home.
