Silent Struggle

In the heart of the bustling city dwells a person whose smile barely conceals the turmoil within. He appears to have everything to the outside world: a thriving career, a loving family, and friends. Yet, behind closed doors, he grapples with a darkness that threatens to engulf him. Each day is a struggle against a darkness that threatens to consume him whole. In the quiet corners of the mind, Where daylight fades and shadows bind, There lies a heaviness, a weight untold, A darkness that wraps around the soul. That is what depression feels like a silent, invisible struggle that weighs heavy on the soul, a quiet killer from the inside.
Pakistan is among the countries where mental and psychological problems are not given importance. In 2019Nineteen thousand three hundred people committed suicide in Pakistan. Most of those who commit suicide are between the ages of 15 and 29 years. In Pakistan, about 50 people are ending their lives by suicide every day.
Nowadays, we all hear the word “depression” somewhere. Every other person seems to say that I am very depressed. So what is depression?
Depression is the name of a specific condition in which a person feels alone. There is a fear and doubt in a person that makes him think of himself as a failure. And the rate of this disease is spreading rapidly in today’s young generation.
In the age of self-centeredness, we have become blinded by our obsession with outdoing each other to fulfill our desires and have even forgotten the difference between good and evil. We are simply running in the race for status by making more and more money and adopting a luxurious lifestyle. Due to this we are not only suffering from decline in the social system, but because of this, selfishness and self-interest are increasing in blood relations as well. Many young people are also suffering from depression due to fear of disrespect. The youth of today is also afraid that people will not forget him. What will people say if you fail the exam? What will people say if they can’t do anything in life? What will people say if they don’t get married on time? What will people say if you don’t get a job on time? And so on
Putting on a happy face for others while feeling sad inside a person is grappling with a heavy burden of thoughts and stories they feel unable to share due to fear of judgment or criticism from others. This fear of how others might react can be paralyzing, leading to a sense of isolation and frustration. However, it’s essential to remember that everyone has moments or aspects of themselves they feel hesitant to share.
Do we live for ourselves or for society? Do we want to do something in life to show people? Are we just living for people? How can a person of God have depression? Do you believe that Allah rewards every hardworking person? He does not let anyone’s small efforts go in vain. But the condition is that you work hard. Why are you scared? Why is this despair in you? Don’t you believe in yourself? What will happen if these people tell you something?
Regardless of whether you succeed or fail, there will always be people who have something to say. The focus should be on doing what feels right for yourself and following the path that aligns with your values and conscience. Rather than trying to convince others through words, it’s more meaningful to demonstrate your convictions through actions. Actions carry more weight and authenticity than words. Do what you have to do for yourself.
